OH Medical is proud to be partnering with a leading Occupational Health provider to recruit an experienced Occupational Health Advisor – Health Surveillance. This is a fully home-based opportunity, ideal for an OHA who thrives on autonomy, clinical decision-making, and delivering high-quality, evidence-based advice.
The Occupational Health Advisor Role:
This is a specialist role focused on Health Surveillance escalation and risk management, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure best practice and compliance with HSE guidance.
You’ll be at the centre of clinical decision-making, reviewing escalations, identifying risks, and guiding next steps that directly impact workforce wellbeing.Role:
Key Responsibilities
Review and manage Health Surveillance escalations from OHT teams and wider business functions
Assess clinical concerns and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations
Deliver case management for fitness for work, absence, and OH advice referrals
Produce high-quality written reports with practical, compliant guidance
Collaborate with Occupational Health Physicians, senior clinicians, and client stakeholders
Conduct and evaluate:
Spirometry
Audiometry
General medicals
Fitness for role assessments
Provide clinical support and supervision to wider OH teams
Contribute to health promotion and ergonomic advice where appropriate
What We’re Looking For in an Occupational Health Advisor
NMC Registered Nurse
Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health (Degree/Diploma)
Strong experience within Occupational Health Advisory roles
Confident in health surveillance interpretation and escalation
Excellent report writing and stakeholder communication skills
Solid understanding of:
Occupational Health legislation
Data protection & confidentiality
Clinical governance and safe practice
