On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Advisor based from home to service their clients within Cambridge and Ipswich. This is a full time, permanent role.

Responsibilities of the role

  • Telephone and face to face assessments

  • Health Surveillance and Fitness for Work Assessments

  • Promote the health of all employees by developing and participating in health promotion programmes in conjunction with national health events and the requirements of the client

  • Support the Senior OHA in developing the service, identifying opportunities, needs and implement changes in practice as appropriate

  • To assist in preventive strategies to promote a safe and healthy working environment

  • To provide professional effective advice to managers on the management of absence, rehabilitation and re-deployment and to take a key role in case management decision-making

Skills required for the role

  • NMC-Registered General Nurse

  • Occupational Health qualification

  • Previous experience working within occupational health, preferably within a team environment

  • Proven experience in case management and risk assessment

  • Must be competent at making complex clinical occupational health decisions and giving appropriate advice to management at all levels

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be able to influence and gain the support of line managers, HR Managers and employees throughout client organisations

  • Good organisational skills both to manage own workload and the workflow within the OH team and provider organisation

  • Problem solving skills to devise workable solutions to the occupational health issues identified

  • Specific refined skills in case management

  • Computer literate
