Occupational Health Advisor
Location: Sheffield (Ecclesfield)
Salary: £38,169 – £43,668 + Market Rate Supplement (up to £49,716)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
OH Medical is recruiting for an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join a multidisciplinary Occupational Health team in Sheffield. This is a varied role where you will deliver a full occupational health service including case management, fitness for work assessments, vaccinations and pre-employment medicals.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Health Advisor who enjoys managing complex cases and working as part of a wider clinical team to support employee wellbeing and attendance.
What you’ll be doing:
Conducting telephone consultations and managing complex caseloads
Providing evidence-based occupational health advice to employees and managers
Producing concise management reports advising on fitness for work and workplace adjustments
Using a biopsychosocial approach and functional assessment to support return to work outcomes
Obtaining specialist reports and liaising with Physicians, Physiotherapists and Counsellors
Delivering pre-employment and statutory medicals
Undertaking vaccination programmes and advising on infection control
Interpreting legislation and contributing to policies and procedures
About you:
Essential:
Qualified Occupational Health Nurse (Degree, Diploma or Postgraduate qualification)
Case management experience
Competent in immunisations, venepuncture, audiometry and spirometry
Strong understanding of occupational health legislation and best practice
Ability to manage a complex and varied workload
Excellent report writing and communication skills
Experience working within a safety critical environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
Working Pattern:
This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week. Flexible and hybrid working arrangements are available in line with service needs.
