OH Medical is currently seeking an Occupational Health Nurse to be based on our client's site based in Govan, Glasgow. Occasional travel to another site in Scotstoun will be required. This is a full time, permanent position working Monday-Thursday 8.00 am - 4.45 pm and Friday 8.00 am - 12.30 pm.

You will be joining an established OH team which includes an OH Manager, OH Technicians, Physiotherapist and an OH Administrator

The role breakdown is 60% Health Surveillance, Fitness for work medicals, Travel Health, Pre-placement medicals, General health advice and health promotion. Some of the main duties include:

  • To provide a full OH/Treatment service in line with the client contract including consultation, clinical assessment & treatment, advice, education, medical assessments and D&A testing where appropriate.

  • To assess fitness to work for the appropriate job role

  • To provide clinical assessment of clients presenting with minor illness and injury.

  • Health surveillance

  • To provide clinical support to the first aid provision on site.

  • Health Promotion.

Salary & Benefits:

£32,000 per annum

 Essential Skills

  • Registered general nurse or qualification in adult nursing

  • Good clinical knowledge and expertise in health screening & surveillance results

  • Good PC/ IT skills

  • Administrative skills

  • Excellent clinical skills, including suturing and cannulation

  • Good judgement and decision-making skills

  • Presentation skills – for delivery of group health promotion initiatives, health and safety meetings etc.

  • Motivation and ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team

  • Good timekeeping skills

  • Ability to organise work demands and priorities to achieve goals

 Desired Skills

  • Speciality qualification in OH.

  • Experience of developing and implementing health care initiatives

  • Corporate OH experience

  • A&E experience

  • Experience in conducting pre-placement assessments and reviews

  • Experience of producing own reports administrative activities and arranging own appointments.
