OH Medical are recruiting for an Occupational Health Nurse for a role based between sites at Govan & Scotstoun in Glasgow. This is a Full Time Permanent position for a Leading Occupational Health Provider. 

The Remit

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team where you will conduct Health surveillance, Fitness for work medicals, Travel health, Pre-placement, medicals, give general health advice, deliver health promotion and covid assessments.

Your working hours will be Monday-Thursday 8.00am-4.45pm and Friday 8.00am-12.30pm. with the requirement for a night shift approximately 2-4 nights per quarter

Main Duties:

  • Provide a full OH/Treatment service including consultation, clinical assessment & treatment, advice, education, medical assessments and D&A testing

  • Assess clients presenting to Occupational Health providing sound clinical advice and treatment.

  • Assess client’s fitness to work for the appropriate job role and issue appropriate fitness certificates.

  • Write letters to GP/Specialists in line with the Access to Medical Reports Act and Data Protection Act.

  • Provide clinical assessment of clients presenting with minor illness and injury.

  • Maintain appropriate records in line with departmental protocols on record keeping.

  • Health surveillance

  • Provide clinical support to the first aid provision on site.

  • Assist in the delivery of health promotion and wellbeing 


Skill Requirements

  • NMC Part 1 Registered Essential 

  • Qualified to Degree or Diploma Level in Occupational Health Preferred

  • Experienced Occupational Health Nurse with experience in interpretation of health screening / surveillance results

  • ​​​​​​​Excellent clinical skills, including suturing and cannulation

  • Able to work autonomously

  • Good IT Skills

  • Experience in Corporate OH environment preferred

  • A&E experience preferred
