Job Title: Contract Occupational Health Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Occupational Health Technician to join our client on a contract based in Belfast. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a range of occupational health services to our clients employees, including health assessments, health surveillance, and health promotion activities. The Occupational Health Technician will work closely with the Occupational Health Nurse and management to support the delivery of high-quality occupational health services and compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct health assessments for new employees, including baseline medical assessments, health questionnaires, and drug and alcohol testing.
Perform health surveillance assessments for employees exposed to occupational hazards, including hearing and lung function tests, skin assessments, and biological monitoring.
Administer vaccinations and provide health education to employees on a range of topics, including infection control, health promotion, and mental health.
Support the Occupational Health Nurse in managing workplace hazards and promoting safe working practices.
Maintain accurate records and reports of employee health status, incidents, and compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Communicate effectively with employees and management regarding occupational health issues and requirements.
Work closely with external healthcare providers and agencies to support employee health and wellbeing.
Requirements:
Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Occupational Health Technician role.
Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices.
Experience in conducting health assessments, health surveillance, and health promotion activities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with employees, management, and external healthcare providers.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
