OH Medical is currently seeking an experienced Occupational Health Technician to join a leading Occupational Health Provider in a dynamic mobile role across Peterborough and the local area.
The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, travelling, and supporting a variety of client sites. You will play a key role in promoting workplace health and wellbeing through the delivery of high-quality occupational health services.
Your responsibilities as a mobile Occupational Health Technician will include:
Delivering health screening including baseline measurements (height, weight, blood pressure and urinalysis)
Conducting health surveillance (audiometry, spirometry, vision testing, fitness-for-work medicals)
Carrying out drug & alcohol testing and ensuring strict adherence to chain of custody procedures
Supporting with venepuncture and vaccinations (if appropriately trained)
Promoting health and wellbeing initiatives to client employees
Managing and maintaining all medical equipment, ensuring it is clean, calibrated and ready for use
Overseeing vehicle and logistics management for mobile health surveillance units
Completing all administration accurately, maintaining medical records and reports to a high standard
This role will involve regular travel and occasional overnight stays, offering variety and the chance to meet a wide range of people across different industries.
Required Skills & Background
To be the successful Occupational Health Technician candidate for this role, you’ll ideally have:
Previous experience in an Occupational Health setting (preferred, though not essential with the right transferable skills)
A background in one of the following: Hospital Health Care Assistant, Sports Science Graduate, Fitness Instructor, Ambulance EMT, Military Medic, Offshore Medic, or Nursing
Friendly and approachable manner with excellent communication skills
Strong IT literacy and digital record-keeping skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider Occupational Health team
Flexibility to travel, including overnight stays where required
Full, clean UK driving licence (able to drive and park a 3.5 tonne mobile health unit at home)
Commitment to professional development and maintaining confidentiality at all times
Hours
37.5 hours per week (core hours)
Start and finish times may vary depending on client requirements, including some early or late shifts and occasional night work (paid at a higher rate).
Overtime is typically made up of travel time and is paid additionally.
