OH Medical is currently seeking an experienced Occupational Health Technician to join a leading Occupational Health Provider in a dynamic mobile role across Peterborough and the local area.

The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, travelling, and supporting a variety of client sites. You will play a key role in promoting workplace health and wellbeing through the delivery of high-quality occupational health services.

Your responsibilities as a mobile Occupational Health Technician will include:

  • Delivering health screening including baseline measurements (height, weight, blood pressure and urinalysis)

  • Conducting health surveillance (audiometry, spirometry, vision testing, fitness-for-work medicals)

  • Carrying out drug & alcohol testing and ensuring strict adherence to chain of custody procedures

  • Supporting with venepuncture and vaccinations (if appropriately trained)

  • Promoting health and wellbeing initiatives to client employees

  • Managing and maintaining all medical equipment, ensuring it is clean, calibrated and ready for use

  • Overseeing vehicle and logistics management for mobile health surveillance units

  • Completing all administration accurately, maintaining medical records and reports to a high standard

This role will involve regular travel and occasional overnight stays, offering variety and the chance to meet a wide range of people across different industries.

Required Skills & Background

To be the successful Occupational Health Technician candidate for this role, you’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an Occupational Health setting (preferred, though not essential with the right transferable skills)

  • A background in one of the following: Hospital Health Care Assistant, Sports Science Graduate, Fitness Instructor, Ambulance EMT, Military Medic, Offshore Medic, or Nursing

  • Friendly and approachable manner with excellent communication skills

  • Strong IT literacy and digital record-keeping skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider Occupational Health team

  • Flexibility to travel, including overnight stays where required

  • Full, clean UK driving licence (able to drive and park a 3.5 tonne mobile health unit at home)

  • Commitment to professional development and maintaining confidentiality at all times

Hours

  • 37.5 hours per week (core hours)

  • Start and finish times may vary depending on client requirements, including some early or late shifts and occasional night work (paid at a higher rate).

  • Overtime is typically made up of travel time and is paid additionally.
