HSE & Sustainability Manager – Leading Manufacturer for the Construction Industry
Full-Time, Permanent | Monday – Friday (40 hours per week)
Based in Doncaster

OH Medical is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a leading UK manufacturer supplying innovative products to the construction industry. We’re seeking an experienced HSE & Sustainability Manager to lead Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability initiatives across a busy, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll influence and inspire colleagues, build a strong safety culture, and deliver measurable environmental and sustainability improvements.

The Role

As the HSE & Sustainability Manager you’ll be responsible for creating, implementing and maintaining effective HSE and sustainability frameworks that protect employees, meet legal requirements, and reduce environmental impact — while embedding sustainable practices into every part of the operation.

Health & Safety

  • Champion a positive, behavioural-based safety culture through leadership, training, and employee engagement.

  • Develop and implement HSE policies, processes, and procedures across all sites.

  • Monitor safety performance, lead incident investigations, and ensure corrective actions are delivered.

  • Maintain and improve ISO certifications (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001).

  • Liaise with regulators and external stakeholders on all HSE matters.

Environment

  • Manage waste streams and identify opportunities to improve environmental performance.

  • Ensure compliance with all environmental legislation and maintain records.

Sustainability & CSR

  • Deliver site-level sustainability projects aligned with ESG targets, including carbon reduction, waste minimisation, and energy efficiency.

  • Introduce innovative ways to reduce environmental impact in manufacturing and the supply chain.

  • Communicate sustainability initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

To be the successful HSE & Sustainability Manager you will need:

  • Extensive manufacturing experience, ideally within construction-related products, FMCG, or chemicals.

  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).

  • Strong working knowledge of UK HSE and environmental legislation.

  • Proven success in developing and embedding HSE strategies that engage employees.

  • Knowledge of sustainability best practice and experience in delivering measurable results.

  • Experience with ISO management systems (14001, 45001, 50001).

  • Excellent leadership, communication and influencing skills.

Salary & Benefits

In return for your expertise as the HSE & Sustainability Manager, you will receive:

  • Circa £70,000 PA D.O.E

  • 10% Annual bonus

  • Company car or car allowance

  • 25 days holiday plus banks

  • Private medical cover

  • Contributory pension (matched up to 8%)

  • Life assurance

  • Enhanced maternity & paternity pay

  • Save-as-you-earn sharesave scheme

  • Cycle to work scheme

  • Health & wellbeing initiatives, including occupational health physiotherapy and counselling services

  • Staff discount on products

  • Free on-site parking

If you’re an HSE leader with a passion for sustainability and the drive to make a difference in the construction manufacturing sector, we’d love to hear from you.
