​OH Medical are recruiting for an Occupational Health Nurse in an 18 month fixed term contract as part of a multidisciplinary in-house Occupational Health Team in Sheffield.

The Remit

This role will see you deliver a range of OH services, including, pre-placement assessments, pre-employment screening, fitness for work medicals, vaccinations, management of contamination incidents, statutory health surveillance and other services as required.

  • Deliver pre-employment and mandatory medicals

  • Deliver health surveillance programmes, being competent in spirometry, audiometry and immunisations and venepuncture.

  • Be knowledgeable and demonstrate good understanding and practical application of relevant health and safety regulations associated with noise, HAVS, lead and occupational asthma and know when to escalate cases of concern.

  • Assist in delivering clinics for hepatitis B immunisations and carrying out venepuncture

  • Undertake contamination injury risk assessments and follow up care

  • Assist in the delivery of health promotion activities

  • Provide advice on improving individual health and wellbeing and signpost to relevant external agencies and charities to help individuals access support and make lifestyle changes.

  • Participate in regular clinical audit to generate continuous service improvements in quality.

 

 

Skill Requirements

​

  • NMC Registered Nurse

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience).

  • Previous experience of delivery of immunisations, venepuncture, audiometry, spirometry essential.

  • Proven IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office.

  • Experience of working in public and private sector organisations preferred
