OH Medical are recruiting an experienced Occupational Health Technician to join the established team of a leading Occupational Health Provider in a full time, permanent role. This role involves working alongside a fantastic multidisciplinary occupational health team on the client site in Derby as well as some nationwide travel.
The Remit:
As an Occupational Health Technician, you'll spend around 80% of your time working at the client site as a key part of the team delivering top-quality occupational health services. The other 20% of the time you will be part of the first class peripatetic team travelling nationwide to different client locations. Both aspects of your role will involve carrying out a variety of health assessments, supporting wellbeing initiatives, and helping ensure the occupational health services run smoothly and effectively.
What you’ll be doing:
Deliver Health Screening including Baseline Measurements (Height, Weight, BP and Urinalysis)
Undertake Health Surveillance, Health Screening and Fitness-For-Work Medicals (including Audiometry & Spirometry, Height, Weight, BP and Urinalysis)
Maintain all employee records with accurately recorded medical information
Assist the broader occupational health team with their responsibilities, ensuring all information is collected and recorded accurately.
Carrying out health surveillance such as audiometry, spirometry, vision screening, and health questionnaires
Supporting the delivery of workplace health promotion and wellbeing initiatives
Staying informed and up-to-date with current occupational health practices and standards
Skills Required:
Experienced OHT or Ambulance EMT, Military Medic, Offshore Medic with knowledge and experience of working in Occupational Health
Able to demonstrate a self-motivated and proactive approach to work
Possess solid IT skills
Be able to prioritise own workload and manage own time effectively
Capable of working flexibly and meeting strict deadlines
Able to work both independently and within a team framework
Be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
The holder of a Full UK Manual Driving License (for a minimum of 12 months)
Ideally experienced in Health Promotion, Audiometry, Spirometry & Vision testing
Travel Requirements:
In the first few weeks of employment, the successful candidate will need to use either their own vehicle or a company-hired car for travel. This arrangement will remain in place until a new Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) is available for use.
Once an MMU is obtained, you’ll need to have a suitable space to park the vehicle at or near your home overnight.
You will also need to be comfortable with the travel involved in this role, which includes regular overnight stays. Typically, you’ll be away from home for around three weeks out of every four – but rest assured, you’ll always get home on Fridays for the weekend.
