Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Head of Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Sustainability to join a large construction organisation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering the management and leadership of tier 1 and tier 2 contractors. This role requires a strong understanding of health regulations, audits, insurance and onsite operations.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of Health, Safety and Wellbeing across all our projects and work with clients to align values and deliver this message as one unified team.

  • Manage clients Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental management systems and processes and ensure that they are accessible and implemented consistently across the organisation.

  • Facilitate discussions on health safety and wellbeing topics, encouraging participation and addressing any concerns raised by attendees.

  • Prepare detailed reports on training outcomes, participant feedback, and areas for improvement.

  • Stay updated on current health and safety legislation, best practices, and industry trends to ensure training content is relevant and compliant.

  • Attend and present at client sites and ensure feedback is given to relevant stakeholders.

  • Responsibility of creating and developing risk management strategies.

  • Creating a collaborative culture internally, sharing innovative ideas, constantly assessing opportunities for improvement and innovation.

  • Leading, managing, and motivating HSWS team members and operational teams, always seeking ways to train, develop and improve team and company performance.

Experience and qualification

  • Nebosh qualification essential

  • Experience in construction, civils and/or rail.

  • IOSH qualification desirable

  • Understanding of tier 1 and 2 construction clients.

  • Self sufficient, organisation skills
