The Role

As the Occupational Health Advisor you’ll deliver a high-quality, evidence-based Occupational Health service focused on keeping people healthy, safe and in work.

Day to day you’ll be:

• Managing sickness absence and management referrals
• Completing fitness for work assessments and clear, pragmatic reports
• Supporting return-to-work and reasonable adjustments
• Delivering health screening and surveillance programmes
• Advising managers and HR on workplace health risks
• Getting involved in wellbeing initiatives and health promotion campaigns
• Supporting service development and continuous improvement
• Deputising for senior colleagues when required

There’s plenty of autonomy, but you’ll always have the backing of an experienced OH team.

What You’ll Need

Occupational Health Advisor Essential Knowledge

• NMC Registered Nurse

• Occupational Health qualification or willingness to study

• Understanding of the Equality Act and workplace health legislation

Occupational Health Advisor Experience Required

• Strong post-registration clinical background

• Occupational Health case management

• Report writing and stakeholder communication

• Confident with Microsoft Office and digital health systems

Occupational Health Advisor Skills Required

• Clear, balanced fitness-for-work advice

• Confident handling complex or long-term cases

• Professional, discreet and ethical

• Excellent communication with employees and managers

• Team-focused and solutions-driven
