OH Medical is currently looking for a Band 6 or 7 Occupational Health Advisor to join an in house team in a full-time position, permanent. Working Monday - Friday. in an onsite role in Barnsley
The Remit
This full remit role will see you working as part of a multidisciplinary team covering a wide range of duties including:
Provide specialist advice on Occupational Health matters to other health professionals, managers, staff and clients, a range of options may be available to address employment issues.
Carry out work place visits and surveys, analysing and evaluating the data and providing recommendations through written reports at individual and organisational level.
Management of sickness absence and rehabilitation.
Participate in internal multidisciplinary case management of clients.and advise management and personnel on individual health needs in case conferences.
Plan organise and perform statutory health surveillance, interpreting results and storing data accurately. Referring for medical opinion as and when necessary.
Conduct employment screening based on assessment of individuals health care needs and the risk factors identified within their working environment.
Undertake contact tracing and investigation and advise on infection control of staff.
Carry out venepuncture
Management and support of staff following incidents of possible exposure to blood borne viruses.
Participate in delivering appropriate health promotion
Participate in clinical audit and quality assurance programmes
Undertake risk assessments encompassing the following: Fitness for work, Safe working environment and safe systems of work.
Skill Requirements
NMC Registered Nurse
In possession of or working towards (in second year) a diploma/degree in Occupational Health. Or Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse, with Specialist Practitioner Status or working towards in Occupational Health.
Experience of developing/willingness to learn to implement National Guidance/Health and Safety Policy into Knowledge of Occupational Health Policy and procedure
Previous experience of Occupational Health nursing in the NHS highly desirable
Basic Counselling Course, Mediation Qualification and NEBOSH Qualification all highly desirable
Good IT Skills
Good communication Skills
