OH Medical is delighted to be recruiting for a leading manufacturer for an experienced Occupational Health Advisor in a Part Time Permanent role (3 days, must include a Friday). You’ll become the trusted face of OH at their Carlisle site, working two onsite days for hands-on clinical work; plus one remote day for projects and follow-ups, while also supporting wider UK & I projects remotely.


The Role:

This role offers the ideal chance for an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to provide a first-class Occupational Health Service where you will lead OH delivery on site, backed by a friendly in-house team that includes an OHA, OH Nurse and Physio. Your duties will include:

  • Handle complex case management for Carlisle and remote referrals across the UK & Ireland region. Max 5-6 case management referrals per day, allowing time for thorough, people-centred support.

  • Assist OHN in delivering health surveillance & screening (audiometry, spirometry, vision, drug testing, pre-placement assessments).

  • Provide expert rehab/return to work guidance and contribute to policy-driven programmes.

  • Keep immaculate electronic OH records and produce clear, timely reports for managers.

  • Support site health promotion events and Mental Health & Wellbeing Ambassadors.

  • Collaborate with H&S, HR and Compliance teams to maintain SEQOHS level standards.

  • Drive continuous improvement projects that widen the OH agenda across the site. 

Required Skills:
To be the successful Occupational Health Advisor candidate for this role, you'll:

  • Be an NMC‑registered Nurse, ideally with an OH qualification (or equivalent OH experience).

  • Have 5+ years’ occupational health experience, ideally in manufacturing, with strong, evidence‑based case management and health‑surveillance skills.

  • Have an up‑to‑date knowledge of UK H&S law, GDPR and the NMC Code.

  • Be a confident communicator, team player and champion of positive change.

  • Be IT‑savvy (MS 365 & OH software) and able to travel occasionally for quarterly team meet‑ups.
