​Occupational Health Nurse Advisor – Chesterfield

3 year FTC | Part-Time - Up to 22.5 hours per week | £49,529.33 FTE

OH Medical is currently recruiting for an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor to join a forward-thinking and expanding Occupational Health provider based in Chesterfield (S41). This Occupational Health Nurse Advisor role offers the opportunity to work within a developing service delivering high quality workplace health support to organisations across both the public and private sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor who enjoys working autonomously while helping shape and develop a growing Occupational Health service. As an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor, you will deliver a broad range of Occupational Health services including case management, health surveillance and workplace health assessments.

The Role

As an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor, you will provide a comprehensive Occupational Health service focused on improving workforce health, reducing sickness absence and supporting employee wellbeing.

The Occupational Health Nurse Advisor will work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality clinical Occupational Health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing management referrals and case management assessments (remote via telephone or Microsoft Teams)

  • Delivering health surveillance programmes including audiometry, spirometry and skin assessments

  • Conducting pre-placement health assessments

  • Carrying out Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments

  • Providing workplace health assessments and wellbeing support

  • Delivering immunisation assessments and vaccinations where required

  • Supporting organisations with fitness for work advice and sickness absence management

  • Ensuring all Occupational Health practice are evidence based and compliant with current legislation

  • Participating in clinical audit and service evaluation to support continuous improvement

This Occupational Health Nurse Advisor role offers variety, autonomy and the chance to play a key role in the development of a growing Occupational Health service.

Salary & Benefits

In return for your expertise as the Occupational Health Nurse Advisor, you will receive:

  • £49,529.33 Full Time Equivalent = Pro Rata £29,718.69 for 3 days. (Potential to increase hours as service grows)

  • 27 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays (pro rata)

Requirements – Occupational Health Nurse Advisor

We are looking to speak with experienced Occupational Health Nurse Advisors who are confident in delivering a full Occupational Health service.

Essential Criteria

  • Registered Nurse on Part 1 of the NMC register

  • Post-registration clinical experience demonstrating sound clinical knowledge and evidence-based practice

  • Post-registration qualification in Occupational Health (Certificate, Diploma or Degree)

  • Recent Occupational Health experience (within the last 2 years)

  • Understanding of clinical audit and quality improvement

  • IT literate with experience using systems such as Word, Excel and email

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Good time management and organisational skills

  • Clear understanding of confidentiality and information governance in Occupational Health

  • Awareness of Health & Safety legislation, risk assessment and workplace wellbeing issues

  • Enthusiasm for service development and innovation

  • Willingness to undertake further specialist training where required

  • Ability to work effectively within a changing service environment

  • Full UK driving licence or access to a vehicle for work purposes

Desirable Criteria

  • Registered Nurse on Part 3 of the NMC register

  • Experience working to SEQOHS standards and accreditation requirements

  • Venepuncture and vaccination skills

  • Recent experience working within large healthcare or multi-service organisations
