​OH Medical is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse to join one of the UK’s leading providers of occupational health services. Working Part Time Monday to Thursday in an established Occupational Health team in Plymouth.

The Remit:

The role will include safety critical medicals, health surveillance, drug and alcohol testing and running a walk in clinic.as well as giving occupational health advice. 

  • Provide a full OH and Treatment service including consultation, clinical assessment & treatment, advice, education, medical assessments and D&A testing where appropriate

  • Provide professional advice, support and guidance to the client and wider multidisciplinary team.

  • Assess clients presenting to Occupational Health providing sound clinical advice and treatment.

  • Fitness to work assessments for the appropriate job role and issue appropriate fitness certificates.

  • Write letters to GP/Specialists in line with the Access to Medical Reports Act and Data Protection Act.

  • Provide clinical assessment of clients presenting with minor illness and injury.

  • Provide clinical support to the first aid provision on site.

  • Assist in the provision of health promotion and wellbeing on site.


Skills Required

  • NMC Part 1 Registration (Essential)

  • General medicals and health surveillance (Essential)

  • Safety Critical Medicals including HAVS, Drug and Alcohol Testing experience (Desirable but training can be given)

  • Knowledge of how health conditions may impact on ability to carry out safety critical roles in engineering / construction industry. (Essential)

  • Demonstrate good IT literacy (Essential)

  • Be able to prioritise and manage their time effectively (Essential)

  • Previous A&E experience (Preferred)

  • Previous Engineering or Construction Industry experience (Preferred)
