​​OH Medical is currently seeking an Occupational Health Technician for one of our clients a Leading Occupational Health Provider in a Full-Time (37.5 Hour Per Week) Peripatetic role. This exciting opportunity will see you working between the hours of 8:30am and 5:00pm with regular overnight stays and travel focused on the Exeter region but with occasional travel throughout the UK required. 

 

The Role:

Joining this established Occupational Health team as an Occupational Health Technician. Your duties will include:

  • Conduct health surveillance screening, covering audiometry, lung function testing, drug and alcohol testing, and general baseline measurements (height, weight, blood pressure, urinalysis).

  • Ensure accurate recording of all medical information in occupational health records, forwarding it to relevant clinical staff.

  • Maintain serviceable, clean, and purpose-fit equipment.

  • Undertake additional tasks as needed, such as supporting health promotion activities.

  • Provide overall support to the occupational health team for smooth departmental functioning, handling non-clinical tasks like filing and tidying.

  • Collaborate with the wider occupational health team, ensuring accurate gathering and recording of information.

The screening processes provide our nursing and physician teams with the essential biometric info needed to make clinical decisions about patient care. As an Occupational Health Technician, your role won't involve interpreting results, except in drug and alcohol testing

 

Required Skills:

  • Sound educational background including a good standard of numeracy and written English

  • Capable of working independently with support from line management and team members.

  • Displays a proactive approach to tasks.

  • Solid IT skills

  • Can prioritize workload, manage time effectively, self-motivated, and works flexibly to meet strict deadlines.

  • Recognizes the importance of patient confidentiality, ensuring all patients are treated with respect, dignity, and privacy.

  • Possesses self-awareness and a respectful attitude towards others.

  • Demonstrates a strong customer service focus and approachability during assessments.

  • A team player who supports colleagues and fosters a positive working environment

 

The successful candidate ideally will come from one of these backgrounds:

  • Health care Assistant

  • EMT

  • Military Medic

  • A Graduate with a Sports Science Degree

 

Salary & Benefits:
