OH Medical are recruiting for a Band 8 C Lead Nurse in an in house role in London. This full-time 3 – 6 month contract role will see you working as part of a multidisciplinary Occupational Health team.
The Remit
This strategic role will see you providing leadership and direction to all staff within the OH Service. Working closely with OHPs as well and leading and managing the wider team of specialist Nurses, Physios, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Psychiatrists and admin staff. You will ensure the service meets all key performance targets whilst providing a high-quality service that promotes, maintains and improves employee health and safeguards against workplace risks. Your duties will include:
Provide a strategic organisational vision for the OH service
Manage the provision of an efficient high quality OH service
Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation whilst maximising and promoting the health of all employees
Develop an overall service plan for the OH Department setting out strategies, initiatives and arranging resources ensuring the work is carried out in a timely fashion
Responsible for long term strategic plans for SEQOHS accreditation and policies of the service to create a framework to support this
Promote a healthy team, encourage engagement, and reduce sickness absence, supporting professional development across the OH function
Providing strategic advice on all areas of OH as required
Identifying resourcing requirements and service standards
Lead on all aspects of operational delivery of the OH function including staffing, scheduling and rotas, procurement and provision of external contracts including tender and negotiating external contracts.
Planning and liaising with other departments for Flu Vaccination and Health Surveillance programmes
Attend leadership and Management meetings as required
Ensure clinical supervision for OH Staff working closely with Consultant OHPs and other professionals within the team
Act as a resource to management and employees for health, safety and wellbeing matters including legislation and how may affect staff in the workplace
Manage own clinical case load of specialist OH work
Provide advice and support for managers at all levels on individual cases for management referrals and sickness absence
Skill Requirements
NMC Registered Nurse
Post Registration Occupational Health Specialist Practioner
Educated to Degree / Diploma level in Occupational Health
Masters in Occupational Health Preferred
Experience of Complex Case Management
Significant Senior Management Experience within Occupational Health Setting
Expert knowledge of National and local policy relating to Occupational Health and Wellbeing
Knowledge and experience of SEQOHS accreditation and experience of Audit and quality assurance initiatives
Good written and verbal communication skills
Good time keeping skills and able to work flexibly and to strict deadlines.
