OH Medical Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a leading local authority client to recruit an experienced Building Works Surveyor (S03) for an interim contract based in Waltham Forest, London.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified and proactive Surveyor to play a key role in assessing and resolving disrepair maintenance issues, ensuring properties across the council’s housing portfolio remain safe, compliant and maintained to a high standard.
The successful candidate will support the Repairs Partnering Team and work collaboratively with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure repair works meet compliance regulations, budget expectations, and resident satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out assessments and inspections related to building disrepair and maintenance issues.
Support the delivery of high-quality repairs and improvements by monitoring contractors and consultants.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and specifications.
Maintain accurate and detailed digital records of site visits and inspections.
Update asset management databases following site assessments and repair works.
Liaise with the Building Safety Operations and Building Safety Compliance teams to ensure all homes are legally compliant and safe.
Respond to escalated complaints and provide professional advice to internal teams and residents.
Requirements:
To be the successful Building Works Surveyor candidate for this role, you'll have:
Proven experience in a similar Building Surveyor or Property Maintenance role, ideally within a local authority or social housing setting.
Strong knowledge of disrepair law, housing standards, and compliance regulations.
Proficient in using digital reporting tools and asset management systems.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Relevant technical qualification in building surveying, construction, or property management is desirable.
