OH Medical is currently seeking an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join an in-house Occupational Health Department, in a Full or Part-Time Permanent role. This exciting site-based opportunity will see you join a leading food manufacturer covering two locations Highbridge & Devizes with the flexibility of some home working.

The Role:

This role offers the ideal chance for an experienced Occupational Health Advisor (or two in a job share) to provide a full remit Occupational Health Service operating to high clinical standards. Your duties will include:

  • Oversee health surveillance programmes, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation.

  • Lead and mentor Occupational Health Technicians, fostering their professional development.

  • Assess employees' fitness for work and support their return-to-work process.

  • Implement and promote a proactive Wellbeing Strategy.

  • Collaborate with HR, line managers, and external professionals to deliver comprehensive health services.

  • Drive continuous improvement to align occupational health services with business and employee needs.

  • Manage health referrals from management, providing expert advice and recommendations.

  • Act as a key point of contact, offering guidance and support to the team.

  • Assist site teams with absence management and compliance.

  • Analyse health data and trends to inform proactive wellbeing initiatives.

 

Required Skills:

To be the successful Occupational Health Advisor candidate for this role, you'll be:

  • NMC Registered Nurse with an Occupational Health Qualification (Diploma or Degree) and a NEBOSH qualification would also be advantageous but is not essential.

  • Minimum 18 months’ Occupational Health experience

  • Skilled in health surveillance, risk assessment, and return-to-work processes, with expertise in workplace health management.

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and Employment Legislation

  • Experienced in ensuring compliance with regulations such as the Equality Act and health surveillance standards.

  • Excellent Communication Skills, with the ability to convey medical information clearly and build strong relationships with employees, HR, and management.

  • A flexible Working Approach – Willing to work varied shifts as and when required to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

  • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment with an understanding of Occupational Health challenges in fast-paced settings.

  • Full UK Driving Licence & Willingness to Travel – Providing consistent health support across both Highbridge & Devizes sites
