Business Development Director – Occupational Health

Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per annum
Location: Home-based (with travel approx. twice a month)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

OH Medical is delighted to be recruiting for a Business Development Director – Occupational Health on behalf of a leading provider of occupational health and wellbeing services. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping growth strategies and delivering exceptional client experiences across the UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business development, overseeing new and rebid opportunities, and collaborating with internal teams to create tailored, client-focused solutions that win and retain business.


Key Responsibilities – Business Development Director – Occupational Health:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients, adopting a consultative and strategic approach.

  • Take ownership of opportunities, crafting solutions that align with client needs and organisational objectives.

  • Collaborate closely with operational, clinical, and bid teams to deliver winning service propositions and compelling tender responses.

  • Shape and deliver engaging presentations, confidently managing client follow-ups and queries.

  • Support the development of pricing strategies and contribute ideas for service growth and improvement.

  • Drive new business acquisition, upselling, and rebid opportunities while ensuring exceptional client experiences throughout the process.


Ideal Candidate Profile – Business Development Director – Occupational Health:

We’re seeking a proactive, strategic, and client-focused professional with a passion for business growth and occupational health.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • A proven track record in business development or commercial roles within occupational health or related sectors.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships at all levels.

  • Experience in bid management and crafting tailored, client-centric solutions.

  • Strong commercial awareness, organisational skills, and attention to detail.

  • A collaborative mindset with the confidence to influence and engage stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, for client presentations and proposals.


Location & Remote Working:

This role is home-based and requires a suitable home workspace. While primarily remote, occasional travel will be needed for client meetings and two annual National Conferences in Birmingham.

  • Applicants must be based in the UK and eligible to work in the UK.

  • This role does not offer sponsorship.

  • Overseas remote working is not permitted.

Salary & Benefits – Business Development Director – Occupational Health:

  • Competitive salary: £55,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience)

  • Mileage paid at 45p per mile
