​OH Medical is currently seeking an Occupational Health Manager band 8b based in Hull. This is a full time agency position (Monday - Friday) for a 6 month contract. You will be joining a very well established in-house Occupational Health service. This role is a key member of the senior Human Resources leadership team. You will play a pivotal role in leading the Trust’s Occupational Health Service and implementing fast paced strategies in line with the Trust’s vision, values and goals. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture that encourages staff to be innovative, creative and challenging in the interests of delivering high quality client care, effective performance and professional practice; in which staff feel confident to speak out and to listen to each other and where feedback is regularly given.

  • Provide professional leadership and a highly visible and authoritative presence to support staff in advancing professional and clinical practice through the use of audit, research and evidence-based practice, using influence to ensure compliance with Trust policies and procedures.

  • Facilitate and lead data activities, ensuring robust quality monitoring systems are in place and delivered to provide assurance of effective and safe delivery of care.

  • Act as a role model for all clinical practitioners within the department and the wider Trust.

  • Ensure that all staff comply with the Trust’s standards for behaviour and attitude, and address any deficiencies.

  • Provide expert advice to Nursing staff and other professionals, ensuring compliance with NMC regulation and the professional code of conduct.

  • Provide specialist expertise on all occupational health matters to the Trust’s board/Executive and Senior managers.

  • Develop and deliver Occupational Health plans, strategies and risk management, escalating concerns to the Director of Workforce.

  • Develop practices and services in line with the Trust’s strategic objectives, national guidance and local service development plans.

  • Ensure the Trust’s compliance with national standards and controls as they relate to Occupational Health.

  • Ensure the key elements of Clinical Governance are in place.

  • Set and monitor departmental standards of care quality and patient safety within Trust guidelines.
