OH Medical is currently seeking a Practice Nurse to work at our client site based in Woking. This is a full time permanent position Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
To provide a full service in line with the client contract including travel vaccinations and travel health, general medicals and health surveillance.
The Remit:
Ensure services are delivered within the service level agreements set out in the client’s contract.
Participate in audits, satisfaction surveys and any other quality monitoring as required.
Maintain a high standard of OH record keeping using the OH IT system.
Assist with the production of management information as required
Any other duties as required within the scope of OH practice
Ensure maintenance of stock and equipment to ensure safe service delivery.
Provide a comprehensive travel health service within our client sites.
Order and arrange the equipment to provide a travel service.
Carry out comprehensive travel health assessments, for individuals who are required to travel on company business and provide vaccinations as necessary. Provide advice on fitness to travel adhering to country admission requirements and local policies and procedures.
Ensure all appointments, vaccinations, DNA’s, blood test results and consent is accurately recorded on Cohort- Ensure that the cold chain is always maintained when delivering vaccination services, to include during the transporting of vaccinations where this is required.
Support the annual influenza vaccination programme as required
Utilise opportunities to work in conjunction with the wider integrated team to provide a seamless service to clients.
Develop a good knowledge of the health and wellbeing benefits that companies offer their staff and ensure appropriate referral to other services as required such as PMI, EAP etc.
Perform health surveillance as required across three sites, escalating abnormal results.
Assist with risk assessments as required
Maintain records in a secure and confidential manner
Assist with the preparation and delivery of health promotion activities as required
Providing a triage and signposting service for associates on site following accident/injury
To maintain valid and up to date registration with the NMC and comply with NMC guidelines in relation to professional issues and clinical supervision
Essential Skills
Registration with NMC Part 1
Previous experience/qualification in emergency nursing/A&E
Experience with travel health/ vaccines and managing a vaccination programme
Screening and Medicals
Evidence of up to date knowledge base of professional and specialist issues
Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentially at all times
Demonstrates a clear understanding of professional accountability in the scope of professional practice.
Ability to work effectively independently and also within a team framework.
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Applications e.g. email, word processing and spreadsheets etc.
Able to prioritise own workload and manage own time, self-motivated and capable of working flexibly and to strict deadlines using own initiative.
Desired Skills
Knowledge and experience of working in occupational health
Yellow fever training/ experience
Experience of conducting pre-placement assessments and reviews
Experience of conducting health assessments/surveillance including Lung function, HAV’s, Audio
Evidence of current basic life support certification and anaphylaxis training
Experience of producing own reports administrative activities and arranging own appointments
Experience of developing and implementing health care initiatives.
